Today in history, the father of science, Galileo passed thru the silky clutches of life here on earth and finally came to rest on the chaise lounge beyond the heavens he first discovered.

He was heralded for invention and discovery, naming only a few; the first thermometer (thermosphere), the military compass, and the first telescope to peer upon the planets and moons outside our own orbit. Yet in his golden years, he shocked the world with the infamous foundation that the earth actually circled our fiery sun. With this, he found himself charged of heresy by the Catholic church and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Due to his age and worsening health, he was allowed to serve out his sentence under house arrest.

A person of such imagination and keen ability to wield a tapestry of wonder, he must have put together a pretty swank living room, wouldn't you think? Though it must have been painstaking back then, not only to whip up dreamy furnishings never thought of before, but to create them by hand, alone, for himself and his homey spaces he was sequestered to. Try as they might, they just couldn't keep the man down. Of course, friends must have stopped by, right? A master of creation can no doubt entertain, host, and probably had a kitchen that most folks in 1633 would kill for. Then again, his abilities as a host might be curtailed slightly - you can forget about serving friends any wine for that matter, on house arrest. But oh that kitchen..

Doesn't it bring you such happiness and peace that you now can just let your fingers and eyes do the walking, and navigate to your favorite home furnishings website to choose your lavish surroundings?
